Planning For Easter

So did you know that Easter is in March this year? It's on March 31st. I'm glad I looked it up, because I wouldn't have known or had time to plan for it. I love making my boys matching bow ties, home decor, treats, and (shh) "bunny gifts". To get some cute inspiration I visited Pinterest and found these pretty pics.

I LOVE THIS IDEA. Taking marshmallow and coloring them with food coloring. How neat!

Decorate with eggs and twine is so divine.

And I adore these peep s'mores and glitter filled eggs. I know it's spastic to plan for Easter, but it's just who I am and I like it. I love making every moment special and magical for the boys. I might even put together an advent calendar for Easter, using eggs :) I might even make my own chocolate Easter bunnies this year. haha can you tell I have time on my hands, now that the book is done?

A Tasty Snowman Pastry

Photobucket

On a Saturday morning we took a vote for doughnuts or cereal and Krispy Kreme was the champion. I personally don't like doughnuts (I always get sick from them), but in spite of my tummy we went on a family road trip and tracked down these charming snowmen doughnuts. Seeing the boys nibble on their tasty pastries and frosting on their cheeks, was a treat itself. So I decided it was worth the 15 minute drive there. These cute chill willie snowmen started the morning off with holiday cheer and were a splendid a.m. feast.

How about you? Are you a doughnut or a cereal Lover?

A Scrumptious Family Project

What's Christmas without cookies and baking?!
I don't know about you, but I have so many flashbacks decorating treats and baking with Mom. Wanting my boys to have the same memories and because Mr. Sonboul also didn't have youthful moments like this, decorating cookies was a must this last weekend. I dug around my pantry and found all kinds of fun sweets to embellish the cookies. From chocolate chips to lucky charm's left over scraps (all the marshmallows picked out by the boys and me at breakfast time ;), we got to work.

It was fun seeing all the different cookies and I just adored Mr. Sonboul's Christmas Liberty Bell cookie. When we were done there were no morsels left behind, made sure by the boys... and me.

The Sonboul's holiday celebrations are off to a perfect start!

30 Days: Day Five

Cheese:

I might have been a mouse in another life...
I love it that much. The sharper the better!
I want to put it on ALMOST everything,
because it makes things taste better.

A few years ago, while tucking Bradley into bed
at night he said:
"Mommy, I love you more than cheese".
And let me tell you...this kid LOVES
cheese! Is it odd that I did an entire post
on cheese? Yes, but oh well...
I'm still 100% grateful for it.

A REDO On The Weight Loss Journey!

Photobucket

This last 3 weeks is a MUST... "REDO"!
I haven't gained ANY weight...thank goodness, in fact
people are starting to tell me
"You are looking thinner Heidi".
:)
But I'm pretty sure that the sugar level in my blood is up there!

Everything went a little crazy when Mr. Sonboul and I started
our "mad dash" to finish my newest collection. We were staying up
so late every single night and I started missing workouts. I tried
to get them in here and there, but the lack of workouts clouded my
judgment with sweets and late night snacks.

I feel sore again and I'm feeling sluggish.
It's amazing how fast you can undo all the HARD WORK!
I almost feel like I'm starting at day one again and it SUCKS.

The odd part is that I still feel a STRONG drive to lose weight, it might just
be the fact that I'll be on a cover of a book that's causing this motivation. Whatever it is, I just
slipped a little...okay more than a little and I'm going to do something about it!

Before it gets out of control and I put back on the 30lbs I
lost, I'm starting a new today. I'm recommitting to the
"everyday workouts and no food past 7pm".

Without those I just don't lose weight and I only drop 1 lb. a week.
THIS SO SUCKS!!!
Ugh!

So today, I'm giving myself a redo and keeping my double chin up.
I'm saying Hello to week 8 and goodbye to sweets.
I can feel my finglers hesitent to write these words, but I know that's just
the fat girl in me. I'm already missing the boost of energy from not working out
and taking care of me. I will not let 31 be another Fassy Year!

Photobucket

I'm coming for you 40lbs and I won't let chocolate, ice cream or pie stop me!

How about you? How is your weight loss coming along?

30 Days: Day 2

Photobucket

Dinner Time:
Growing up in a home with 6 kids was
crazy. There was a lot of teasing and fights
over anything and everything.
It didn't matter if we were fighting or not,
but just about every night we ate dinner together
as a family. I know that this happened, because
mom took the time to make it happen
and made dinner every night.
Regardless of how tried she was, she
always took the time to feed us. Not only that...
she would also make us different meals.
She never forced me to eat meat and
allowed me to become a vegetarian at a young age.
This is because I've ALWAYS hated meat.
She is a wonderful mom and I'm grateful
for every single meal she cooked.

Road Trip USA: FINALLY...Part 4

After visiting the boy's doctor this last Friday, we discovered Bradley has bronchitis in the dang summer time (he normally only gets it in the winter). I guess the AC's while on vacation caused a really...REALLY bad flair up and he is now taking 4...that's right....4 medications :( While listening to his chest...the doc made this really concerned face (a "this kid is sick!!!" face).
So with that said, taking care of this issue put me behind on part 4.

Today I have the last of the vacation photos (thank goodness...I told you there was a lot of photos). We made sure to take longer coming home, that way we could visit more places like the oh so beautiful "GRAND Canyon" and the BIG Texan  restaurant. We didn't take on the food challenge, but we witnessed some people that did. I have no idea how someone can down that much food/meat in 1 hr, but I guess some people can.

After we left Texas a storm followed us all the way home. We drove through it 4 times which = fun! It followed us up to the Grand Canyon and there was one point when it poured on us. It was so neat and the boys loved it.

A few museums here and there, we finally made it back to Cali. The salty sea air was so welcomed and because we planned it out well, we made it home and had enough time to enjoy the day still.

What did we learn from this trip?
1) Being prepared in the car, will make it a great trip for kids and parents
2) Having large zip lock bags in the car are perfect for car sick moment...poor Calvin.
3) Planning ahead and mapping stuff out will save you time and money
4) We love XM radio
5) We missed In-N-Out so much and it was the best road trip food we ate coming home.

Thanks for hanging around for ALL these photos and I highly recommend you taking this road trip across America. It gave us so much quality family time and we are all closer for it.

Road Trip USA: Part 3

Looking at all these photos really makes me understand why I loved this trip so much.
Everyday was over flowing with family time and enjoying this beautiful country we live in.
I know that most people vacation in Hawaii and I'm sure that's in the future for us, but driving across this amazing nation made me so proud to be an American and to be teaching the boys as we go.

I think the greatest moment was when Bradley said
"Mommy, I understand why you don't want us to have a DS"
I responded with "O- why is that?"
"If we were only looking at the DS on the trip, we would miss all this cool stuff out the window".

With a big sigh of relief... knowing that our parenting is finally getting to them I say
"You couldn't be more right peanut". I'm not joking when I say that the boys were angels in the car and loved all the driving. I made something awesome that helped and I'll share that next week. I'm telling you, it's a travel treasure to have.

Holy Smokes... you made it! Again, I told you I had a lot of photos.
From the chocolate factory to church historical sites, we learned so much. From sleeping in to celebrating Hunter's 11th Birthday, this trip in MO was perfection. It was sad leaving, but we left on a happy note :)
Which I'll never forget!
Just two more days of crazy photo post and then something crafty is on the way.
