Do you dream of a scrapbook room in you home?

Right now, my family is renting an apartment in a VERY nice town. We would love to buy here, but I refuse to pay $700,000 for a whole in the wall 3 bedroomed home! REFUSE! So for now (until Jason is all done with school), we are renting.

We live in a cute 2 bedroom and 2 bath apartment, where we are friends with all our lovely neighbors. The boys get one room and Jason and I get the other. When we moved in (over a year ago) I had one question.... WHERE DO I PUT ALL MY SCRAPBOOK STUFF??? lol

On moving day I had 13 boxes filled with scrapbook stuff, so this hobby of mine is no joke! I really needed my own space. And even more so because I have a "really job" in the scrabook world and work for many different people/companies.

So, I got creative! I took our main coat closet and used my space wisely. I went out and bought those door shoe hangers and put all my embellishments in them.

I bought two cute polka dot bins and put all my ribbons and Studio Calico kits in them. I also bought 3 small bins for all my scraps of fabrics, adhesive, and Chipart stuff for GCD Studios. I was gifted with one more paper bin, so I now have 3. Then I laid a piece of wood over the top of them to create a desk.

SO here is what it all looks like:

It's very humble, but it's mine and I've made some of my most favorite layout here. Someday... we will have a lovely home and when we do, I will be able to check my "Get a scrapbook room" off my list :)

I can't wait to design it and to have custom cupboards and shelves built for it. Oh yah! I'm going to go all out for it! Anyways, Creating Keepsakes just came out with this amazing magazine and it is packed with ideas. It's a must have, if you share my same dream. They have some of the most beautiful rooms in it and yes... I was drooling over them lol.

Today, I am
giving away this issue and a gift card to target for $20
(so you can get some cute bins like mine)... so make sure to leave a comment and check back to see who the winner is.

Oh and CK was nice enough to share a few sneak peeks of it :)

Thanks for visiting :)

I'm really excited about this issue! I need some creative ideas to pretty-up my space. Right now it's functional, but not very nice to look at :). Thanks for the chance!

Love you're little scrap space! It's fabulous. And I love that you can just close up the mess, if need be. :)

You are living proof that you don't need a Martha Stewart room to make fabulous things. I had no idea you were working in a closet! :-) I CAN'T wait to see what your room will look like.

PS I'm peeved they are showing button gumball machines in the sneaky peek. I've had two for years! Haha! ;-)

I recently moved into an apartment with limited space, too, and had to compact my scrap-room into a closet, so I can share in your dilemma! You did a really nice job with your space, though, I love the shoe hanger idea! The creative spaces issue looks great, thanks for the chance!

It's amazing what can be accomplished in such a small space. I don't know how you do it!

Wow! You've done such a great job! You've definitely inspired me to make a nicer space for myself.
Hope you're all doing well. Let me know if you ever make it down to San Diego because I'd love to get together and catch up.

Heidi, I think your space is so cute and well thought out. You have seemed to make the most out of every inch. We moved into a larger house 6 months ago and for the very first time, I gained my very own craft/office room. It is very exciting, but I am not really sure how to get started. I would love some custom cabinets/ shelves. I think I need some inspiration to get started :)

I love your space!!! It is so functional. It is nice that you can just close the doors when you are in the middle of working on [awesome] projects. You are one creative lady!!!

Oh I know what you mean I use a 1/4 of our living room for scrappy goodness but sometimes I wish I could close the door. Thanks for sharing!!!

I am so inspired by your scrapbook closet. I have a 6 bedroom house and I don't have a space to work on my scrapbooks. My Cricut is under the pool table and my supplies are in a box under the grandkids crib. I could use some ideas to get me started. Lisa and I love your post and watching your family grow.

I too would love to have a scrapbook room. But am in the process of confiscating a corner of the living room. I have a three bedroom and as soon as one of my boys move out I will have a 2 bedroom two bathroom with a hobby room. Oldest is 21 so am almost there I hope lol. Hubby said he'll probably leave when he is 40.

I'm amazed what you've done with your closet! It looks so organized and pretty. You gotta do what you gotta do in these teeny tiny but super expensive places in SoCal to scrap!

I would love to be as organized as you are. Actually, I think having a small space forces you to be more creative and thoughtful in what you retain. Thanks for sharing--love seeing scrap spaces!!

I dream of a scrapbook room too. I dream of cabinets and countertops and all sorts of cute decorations.

I think your space is cute!

Thanks for an opportunity to win!

Really love your modest space. I prefer to keep crafting in my closet under the stairs because everyting is within reach from my chair and I get more work done that way. I can shut the door and leave work in progress if need be.

You've done a great job with the space you have!! Fantastic! I finally got a scrap room when I bought my own house last year! :)

Just shows you don't need a huge scrap room to make beautiful pages :) I am also in an apt and have only a little half of a guest room. One day hopefully I'll have a nicer bigger craft space. Looking forward to seeing this issue!

Love your craft space - the shoe holders are such a great idea! My space is in the guest room/home office. Slowly taking it over but I have to reign it in! Can't wait to check out this issue!

Hey you,
I just wanted to tell you how much I adore your space. I have a room (I know that's on your list to have), but to be honest, I'm tempted to go down to what you have. I love my hobby and am finding I feel more creative will less stuff. Weird, huh? lol. Thanks for the inspiration!

bummer about all the blogger issues. Ill have to tell you again how fab your little space is!! I love having a really small closet to scrap in. It makes everything right at arms reach from my chair and creating is much faster for me!! Thanks for sharing

You've done a fabulous job w/ your limited space. This is where the magic happens, ay? ;)
If I could only be a third as scrappy-productive as you are in my own cramped area, I'd be happy! TFS the pics, and thanks for the chance to win - you rock!
